Noise isolation > How we install
How we do noise isolation
Unfortunately, many of the vehicle details are vibrating, so those details are additional sources of noise. This problem is solved by applying vibration and noise dampening materials
This solution is going to increase a comfort of your car.
Making the noise isolation, we try to choose the best price-weight-result combination. Our mission is to obtain maximum efficiency with a frugal increasing of car weight and reasonable cost of the job.
We combine different damping materials for “every day use” cars. We cover the most critical places, like the wheel housings, the floor from the front and the hood, by Silent Coat Extra. This is the most effective, but in the same time, the heaviest and expensive material. All other metal surfaces are covered by light Silent Coat.
Noise dampening materials are placed over the vibration dampening materials. We use the principle of sandwich (vibration damping-noise damping-vibration damping) in case of heightened requirements of the client
Roof
As a rule, a roof and wheel housings are badly isolated from noise in a car. The rest of the spaces have simply a poor isolation. A car roof is a quite big sheet of metal, what, like a defuser, passes all the vibration into an interior. Knock on a roof and imagine, what air flow makes with it, when you’re driving on a road. You are sitting practically inside a drum! After cleaning all the metal is covered by Silent Coat or Silent Coat Extra sheets. Noise Isolator or Sound Absorber (noise damping) are placed over vibration damping material.

Engine compartment
It’s necessary to glue a hood by vibration damping materials Silent Coat or Silent Coat Extra and by noise damping material Sound Absorber.
The hood is carefully cleaned and degreased before material installation.
If standard isolation of the hood presents, it’s carefully removed and then installed back.
After this the engine shield is glued by Silent Coat on the interior side as much as possible without disassembling of the front panel. Usually we can glue 2/3 of metal, using Silent Coat Extra. Sound Absorber layer is placed over the vibration damper, in order to damp noise remainders, passing through the engine shield, covered by Silent Coat Extra.

Floor
In the beginning it is necessary to move away from external noise coming through the metal. Floor is covered by Silent Coat Extra sheets or a combination of Silent Coat and Silent Coat Extra. After this noise damper Noise Isolator is placed on the top.

Trunk
The floor of the trunk can glue from 50 to 90% of the surface.
Wheel housings are the strongest source of noise in the car and they deserve heightened attention. We recommend to use Silent Coat Extra as vibration damper. Sound Absorber is placed over Silent Coat Extra. Trunk lid is covered just as a hood is covered.
.

Doors
70% of the outer metal sheet of the door (the one that is closer to a street) is treated with Silent Coat. Also all holes of interior partition are closed by Silent Coat for better sounding of acoustics. After that interior metal partition is covered by Sound Absorber.
It’s difficult to get rid of the front wheels noise without dash board removing. Our experience shows that outside treatment even by the lightest Silent Coat Extra already gives the marked improvement.

The work described above takes up about 32 hours or 2 working days for 2 workers for such cars as Honda Civic, Toyota Rav4, Mazda 6
Always ask for a personal offer as on the full so on the partial treatment!
